Jumbled letters on the page

Has anybody experienced this before?

The page got all jumbled up. This happened a few times before. The touch behaves normally, it's just the screen can't quite figure itself out. It's impossible to navigate tho. I have to hold down the power button and poke around on the screen a little bit to hit the box for restart.

The first time this happened I thought my Kindle was done.

As long as it doesn't happen often I'm not that concerned. I'm just curious if this has happened to anybody else's Kindle.

Yep, I have seen this a number of times on my PW4, but it’s pretty rare. I haven’t been using it much lately, and think sometimes it was triggered by magnetic wake sensor (I never used a cover with it, but when I carried it next to my iPad mini, its cover magnet would activate the Kindle’s sensor in unusual ways).

I don’t think my new PW SE has ever glitched in this way, but that could just be happenstance.

Hmmmm... This is interesting. I can't remember if my Kindle was anywhere near magnets the few times this happened.

So I just have to avoid magnets then.

I wish there were a Setting to disable the magnet sensor.

I’ve also had this happen when I have the Kindle in my ‘utility vest’ pocket: there are magnet closures on the exterior pockets to keep stuff from falling out, and they’re in proximity to the Kindle when it is in the interior pocket.

I’m not sure even having a cover solves the issue, as there can still be other magnets around to trigger the sensor.

But it is pretty rare for it to happen and once you figure out how to restart it, a minor annoyance at most.

If I remember correctly, Kobo has a setting where you can disable the sleep cover sensor/function.

And good thing I didn't order that Kindle sleeve with the magnet to lock the flap
