Depending on how far back, the publishers may not have rights to e versions of back catalog books.

That's true, and tbh I don't know why I specified back catalogue - some of them should make more effort with new e-books.

Back catalog makes more sense. I can't think of any new book from a big publisher that didn't have a digital edition.

I've just bought nearly a dozen books by one of my favorite Regency Romance writers who has had most of her WAAAAY back catalogue (late 80s-early 90s) officially released as books. It would be great if the same thing happened for more authors
