New Paperwhite problem
When Amazon threatened to remove UK Visas from use in UK accounts I closed my account. Before I did that I downloaded all the Kindle books on my wife's Paperwhite to my Mac then having deregistered the Kindle and reloaded them. No problem so far.
She now has a new Paperwhite but I cannot download the books I have stored to the new Kindle as they are registered to the, now closed, Amazon account ( all the books in our account were of course deleted) I'm guessing that Calibre is unable to resolve that problem but if anyone knows if it will or any other means of doing it I would be grateful to hear about it. If that cannot be done then I will have to resort to buying some of them again. |

Do you still have the serial number of the old Paperwhite? If yes, you can remove the DRM with the help of Calibre and the noDRM plugin. If you have no access to the serial number, then there's nothing you can do.
Edit: sorry, I forgot the books are presumably in the KFX format. If so, then you probably cannot remove the DRM from them. You should have downloaded and de-DRMed the books before you closed the old account. Last edited by Sirtel; 04-10-2022 at 03:01 PM. |
