Kindle 4 stuck at boot - Kubrick can't enter fastboot mode

Hi,

One day my kindle just stopped booting, stuck halfway at the loading screen.
Downloaded Kubrick but couldn't get it to run on USB.
Then used VirtualBox to run Kubrick. It'll recognize the device but when it's time to enter fastboot mode, it'll get stuck on "waiting"
The VM has access to all USB devices.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to connect to the reader's serial console and see what is actually happening. With such an old device, I would bet on damage to the Flash memory.
