Paperwhite 2021 : Do I have a problem with the battery?

Today I bought a new [Kindle PaperWhite 2021 8Gb] and while browsing the books in the Amazon store, I feel like the battery is draining too fast.

MODEL : PaperWhite 2021 8Gb
FIRMWARE : 5.14.2
NUMBER OF BOOKS: 22

- The battery discharges about 1% every 1 minute as I walk through the Amazon store.
- Wifi OFF, no light, the battery discharges approximately while reading the book 1% every 35 minutes.

What worries me is the following information from LOG " current=-53613mA":

Battery log due to high delta voltage

Code:
powerd[1565]: I def:battinfo:batt_type = PRIMARY, capav=98%, mAh=1670mAh, volt=4337000mV, current=-53613mA, temp=71F, lmd=0mAh, cycl=0, reason_for_log=Battery log due to high delta voltage:
Here I attach the whole LOG :

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/at...1&d=1648848490

Does anyone have experience with this model, and could tell how the battery should discharge quickly or how long the battery should last?

Since I have no experience with this model, I do not know how the battery should behave. Can anyone help?

I also welcome your experience with the battery, how fast it will discharge in your case.

Thank you in advance for possible advice, info, or help.

Is your Kindle still indexing books? That drains the battery really quickly.
You can check by typing gibberish on the search bar, search, then see if you can press 'Text in books'. If you have books being indexed there, your battery will drain faster than average.

Thanks Hleo12 for any leads. I see that I still have 25 non-indexed books left, I'll see what happens afterwards.

Gibberish. You only need search for ‘.’ (Period)

Keep your kindle on charge for a while after putting books onto it. If the indexing takes longer than a few hours try doing a restart, this sometimes helps to get things moving.

Certain books can get stuck indexing. If that happens, remove them, then put them on one by one until you find the book which is holding up the queue.

My problem came from two damaged books that jammed the index. Thank you for the answers, solved for me.

PS: Basically, I did it according to the user's instructions: BookCat

From my analysis, your device uses around 4.52 mAh/hour, which looks okay to me.

period: 2022-04-01 15:42:16 to 2022-04-01 19:23:14
duration (hours): 3.68
consumption (mAh/hour): -4.52
R^2: 0.99543

Note: I use three consecutive data points that span at least two hours with R^2 > 0.995

I didn't have PW5, but I can share my Oasis 3 result. It varies between 1-6 mAh/hour but mostly around 1-3 mAh/hour.

from: 2022-02-19 21:04:25, to: 2022-02-20 15:52:21, hours: 18.80, mAh/hour: -1.58, R^2: 0.99933

P.S. I think the actual volt (mV) and current (mA) values in PW5's dump files need to divide by 1000. Those values are crazy!
