Send to device changes font on Kindle Oasis

I have a weird, minor problem. I'm not sure if it's a calibre issue or a kindle issue.

I plug in my kindle oasis to my PC and use the send to device functionality. This converts my epub to a AZW3 file. Everything copies ok to the device.

However, when I open the new book on my kindle, I find that my kindle has changed from the bookerly font that prefer to the ember font. If I go to the settings, it will stay say it's on bookerly, but that's not actually true. I have to toggle it to a different font and then back to bookerly to get it to display properly.

This only seems to occur with books I've sideloaded from calibre. I've checked and as far as I can tell I'm not setting a font anywhere. These are just downloaded fan fictions via fanficfare plugin.

Is there a setting or something that causes this issue?

calibre does not change fonts when sending to device. As for converting to azw3 the default conversion settings will not change font. Remember the kindle has a use publisher font setting, check that.
