All Ebook Family

Ok. I think I have officially made us an all Ebook family. Except one son, who doesnt like to read. Go figure.

Bought myself and my daughter a PRS-700 for Christmas. I really enjoy it (although I wish my screen were whiter). I read every day.

We got them before Christmas. Since we enjoyed them so much, we went back and got my husband and my 18 year old college student son a PRS-505. They both love it, and have read more in the last couple of months than they have in years. Then I bought my son-in-law one. He loves it. Checks out books from the library.

Today, I ordered another 505 for my mother-in-law for her birthday.

Ordering, shipping and receiving from the Sony Style Store has been fabulous really. Always shipped right on time with great email notification.

And, I never understand the general negativity regarding the Sony Ebook Store. I find it generally quite easy to use. I have bought a few books, gotten some from my Phoenix, AZ public library ebook service.

All I can say is that I am glad I do not have more immediate family members. I would go broke. (I am trying to hold myself back from replacing my 700 with a 505 for the whiter screen....i think i can....i think i can....)

We had in my house two 505s and a Kindle 1, but since the Kindle 1 just got stolen, it looks like that'll become a Kindle 2. My little sister really wants one too, so if by luck the stolen one appears I bet she'll take that.

I've had a Sony 505 for over a year now and am totally addicted to the damn thing. I read way more now than I did back in the dark pBook ages.

You are Sony's dream customer.

I have a 505 and like it too. I bought my husband one for Christmas. (I would have considered the KIndle so we could have both kinds, but they weren't available at the time.)

Go ebook family!

I just got mine a week ago and I too love it. I keep trying to convince my mom and husband that they need one too. I have been reading so much more now because of the portability and that's what I keep telling them. No takers yet, but I've not given up.

I'll admit I also have a 505, and I also do love it.. But if you are perfectly happy with your 700, and have no issues with the contrast or glare, and aren't a naturally envious person, then I'd stay happy with it. Everything other than the screen is nicer on the 700.

I don't quite understand it either. I especially love the free book offerings. I'm not one to turn down a free book! I use my local library for most of my reading these days, but I do buy a bundle or two here and there. I wish they offered more bundles! Less romance and more what I like to read (most everything else)

We are not quite at this level as we have eight people in the house with five 17 or older. We have three Sony 505s. I have one, my wife has one and her 17 y/o sister has one. My wife's dad who live with us doesn't want one but always seems to take my wife's Reader when a new book comes out that he wants to read and we have. He claims that he doesn't like it, preferring the feel of a paper book. The other 17 y/o only reads manga so he has no interest in a Reader. What is frustrating is that my 8 y/o wants one and we have to keep telling him no. I may end up getting my father-in-law he own Reader so he will stop taking my wife's.
