Adding book auto merged as "test"

Hi, When attempting to add a book, Calibre automatically merges it and shows the Author as "test". The book cannot be found in the library by title or author search or even "test" (see attachment).
I'm a little perplexed. This has happened a few times and hope someone might be able to throw some light on this or suggest a means to add the book effectively.

You turned on auto merging, turn it off in Preferences->Adding books.

Thank you, that did the trick. Now I can go back and reload all those previously rejected. Excellent.
