Kobo Clara HD have removable SD cards?
Do the newly shipped Kobo Clara HDs have removable SD cards? I plan on using the bypass technique to increase my storage and skip the logon screen. I wanted to know if this was possible before ordering it.

Yes. I did it on mine, you just have to remove the back.

Should probably note that you can, but it wasn't really designed for it. This is not like some of the earlier models or a cell-phone where the microSD slot is included *in addition* to the onboard memory. Here, the SD card *is* the on-board memory (so more akin to the flash card in a Raspberry Pi).
In which case, yes, you can take off the back of the Clara HD and replace the SD card with something larger, but you need to write the OS image onto the SD card first, or your Clara won't have anything to boot. |
