Where on the Kindle are these books?

Why do I see ebooks on my Kindle that do not show up in File Explorer when I plug the Kindle into my PC? I am trying to delete ebooks from my Kindle, but neither Calibre or File Explorer show the ebooks as even being on the Kindle. Model is Kindle Paperwhite.

You can only Delete eBooks from PC Amazon eBooks & Devices.

Calibre should see the books. But, if you delete books via the file management on a PC, the Kindle won't register the deletions correctly, as far as space is concerned.

Do you have WiFi on and are you maybe seeing the eBooks you have in your Kindle account and not on your Kindle?

First, are you trying to remove them from your Kindle while still "owning" them so you can put them back into your Kindle 934 days from now? Or are you trying to completely delete them so there is no trace of them anywhere?

You can do both direct from your Kindle PW. You touch the title in your library screen and hold your finger on it for 3-4 seconds and a menu will pop up offering several options, one to remove it from the device and one to permanently delete it.

There may be other ways but that is the way I know for certain works. Doing it through file manager or other ways may have unforeseen consequences.

I'm with JSWolf, you might be seeing books in your amazon account and not necessarily in your Kindle. If they are not being detected by Calibre.

are you sure you have the view switched to "Downloaded" and not "all"? if you have it on "all", it also shows you collections and ebooks who are just in your account.
