CantOpenError

Hi All,

I have my Calibre database on my NAS server (LAN) and I access it through a mapped drive from my notebook. Im in the process of cleaning up entries and adding metadata on my entires for my research papers.( mainly scanned PDF's)

I can access the library ok but when I try to edit the metadata if keep getting CantOpen Error. It allows the changes once I hit cancel.

Any thoughts on how to change my setup or address this issue. At this stage, I am principally editing the metadata not trying to access the files to read them so I'm not sure if content server would help?

Any thoughts appreciated

Rgds

If you always update from the same client, perhaps you could make use of the CALIBRE_OVERRIDE_DATABASE_PATH Environment variable

Quote:
…allows you to specify the full path to metadata.db. Using this variable you can have metadata.db be in a location other than the library folder. Useful if your library folder is on a networked drive that does not support file locking.
