Clara HD Stuck on "Powered Off" screen.

Hi Everyone,

First time posting here and I unfortunately have an issue with my newly acquired Clara HD. The reader is stuck on the "Powered Off" screen and I'm uncertain how to proceed. I had loaded books from Calibre and noticed an ePub wasnt updating the % read after a certain point. The book then wouldn't open after i went back to the home screes so I decided to power off and and am now stuck on the powered off splash screen, resetting doesn't seem to help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

What happens when you try to turn it on? Does the power LED come on? Does the screen light come on after a while? And what "resetting" did you do?

If the power LED does not come on, and it's probably a good idea in any case, plug it in to charge it. No matter what the battery charge level was when you last could see it, you should not assume the battery has not run down. Under normal circumstances, the device will automatically start up within a few minutes of being plugged in. But, there have been a lot of cases where the device wouldn't start, but, after being left on charge over night, it had started.

If it doesn't come one, then you will need to try a factory reset. The instructions are on https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017605314.

And if that doesn't work, it might be fixed with an image written to the SD card. That can be supplied if needed.

I have a Touch and replaced it with a Clara almost 2 years ago. This issue has never happened to me. However, my mother has a Libra, and it happens quite frequently. I have found that if I plug it in, and then hold the power button for about 10 seconds, it restarts.

Hello, i have the issu you describre, the power led come on, and the factory reset don't work, i'm still suck on the power off screen. I buyed a new battery, still not work and after some new search found this forum and found out it can be a sd card image issue.

Can the Grand sorcerer Davidfor help me ?
