Having issues while converting non-English books
I am trying to convert an e-book of .pdf format. This pdf file is of a Marathi book. Marathi is a regional Indian language and uses Devnagari script. However, the conversion output of calibre is not pleasant.
I first tried to convert .pdf to .mobi format and then to azw3. Both the output formats are not satisfactory.
If anyone has any tips to convert Marathi/Hindi books to Mobi/Epub/azw3 format please do share here.

PDF is a terrible source. (and multiple layers of conversion rarely help the final product)

Besides the issues with using PDF as a source for conversion there is another problem with the output format. Kindles do not support Marathi in MOBI or KF8 (azw3) formats, at least not officially. It might work to some extent but I would expect there to be glitches. KFX format supports Marathi and Hindi.
