No subfolders when transferring ebooks to cloud

Hello.


I'm trying to use koboCloud script to transfer ebooks from cloud to my Kobo Libra H2O.
The problem is when I manually put all my files on the cloud from Calibre (in a created folder named "books"), they are automatically put in subfolders by authors.

How to prevent Calibre from doing this?

Calibre has a fixed structure -- Library/Author/Title -- for its libraries.

I think you are somehow copying your calibre library to whatever cloud service you are then reading with KoboCloud. The question is how are you doing that? If you are using "Save to disk" to save the books to the cloud service, then you can configure how this is done on the "Saving books to disk" page of the preferences. Changing the save template to not include the author as a folder is probably all you need.

If you are doing it in some other way, we need to know what it is before we can make a suggestion. But, if @BetterRed is right and you are using calibre with a library on the cloud service, then there isn't anything you can do. Except move it before it breaks. Or both of might have misunderstood what you are doing and, again, we need more details.

Initially my ebooks were in on my computer. A few days ago, I installed pCloud software, created a new folder named "ebooks" in it and then with Calibre, I moved the library to this folder.

Now there are subfolders by authors and two other files (metadata.db and metadata_db_pref_backup.json).

I would recommend that you move your library back to your computer and keep a copy of it in the cloud. See the link in @BetterRed's message that I quoted above. If you want to keep a copy of your library in the cloud, there are many tools that you can use to keep the cloud copy synchronized with the local copy but make sure it is a one way sync from your computer to the cloud.

Basically, if you put your library on a network drive, it's not a question of if your library will get corrupted but when it will get corrupted.

For what you are doing, Save to disk would be a better choice since you can use a template to control folders, file names, etc.
