Slip case for added protection

Is anyone using a slip case for some added protection with their 700? I will be putting mine in a loaded backpack quite often, and would like an added layer of safety. I have looked at the Waterfield Designs kindle cases, and I think that may be a good way to go. Think the 700 with the leather cover will fit into the small slip case?

slipcase

I fit my PRS-700 into the SFBags/Waterfield slipcase designed for the PRS-500/505 (their Kindle slipcase is same dimensions as their Sony slipcase, except it's an extra -- entirely unnecessary -- inch longer. External dimension of 5.5" width (same for both their Sony and Kindle cases) is a little tight on the PRS-700 (which is wider than the PRS-500/505), but it's working fine and is beginning to stretch ever so slightly, leading me to believe that it's going to be perfect in a few weeks. Of course, remove the stock cover when using with the slipcase. good luck.

You should also check out http://www.ecaddycase.com/. They have two options. I have the metal case. I think it is overpriced but I like it. It is a little tight width wise but provides good protection. I picked it over the other option at this site because I prefer to read my PRS-700 with the cover folded back. Hope this helps.

You can get some good ideas!

Though most of them are for an earlier version of the Reader, so the measurements and sizes may vary.

Nothing special, but thought it would take a little more abuse

The Kroo arrived yesterday. I am goign to wait for pictures to see how it works with the Waterfield slip I just ordered.

However, if you plan on using the Sony leather cover, the Kroo is a perfect fit. I mean perfect.

I thought about using a slip case. But for some reason, I felt like the reader in its provided case was a little "Slim" and hard. After holding it for a while, I kept fidgeting for a comfortable position. So I took my 10 yr old Franklin Covey Casio Casseopiea planner case, removed the stitching where the Casio was held, removed the 6 ring binder, and...Wha La! Perfectly fitting case. I left the PRS-700 standard cover on as well, as it sort of Wedges the reader into the Franklin Planner. Wow. Very, very comfortable to hold. I looked online, and see Franklin still has these planner cases and they identify them as "Legacy" Planners. More expensive than the slip cover, but for me, the comfort level of holding and turning pages has increased a zillion fold. Just my 2 cents.

This outer slip case will not be used for reading, but a second layer of protection from the outside world to keep dirt out, and the functioning in tact unit in.

Finally I got some sort of armour for my reader.
For a very decent price btw

£0.79
(Excluding: VAT at 15%)
The tin is not as stong as I would like it to be but still I believe it gives some good protection to the screen. (IMHO, it is probably a very similar tin to eCaddy, only without inner padding, but for a fraction of the original price)

Note: It will NOT fit prs-500, because 500 is bit thicker than 505 and the box would not close properly. I tested it because I have both 500 and 505.
