Date Issue When Saving Books to Calibre on PC

I have several Kindles (keyboard), and when I went to add a bunch of books to my Calibre, they got added but the acquisition date was changed to the current date. This made sorting to see the latest ones loaded after purchase, or free books all mixed up with the new addins which were in fact a year or two old.

Is there some switch to prevent this, or could this be a user option that we could enable or disable in order to keep the acquisition date of any books we add from a Kindle.

GetFileName plugin.

Configure it and set "file date" to a custom date column (added in preferences > add your own column).

Re-add your books (note that adding the file to an existing record won't work).

Copy the date from your custom column to Calibre's date column.

Unfortunately, DeDRM interferes with this if a book needs to run through that. You'll have to manually check the datetime on those ones and edit it yourself.

Also, this is assuming you downloaded the books as soon as you got them. If you didn't, you'll have to manually edit it.

That's what I do.
