You can use the Share feature of the built in Files app to share .mobi files from the Dropbox app to Kindle. The destination can be any Kindle app or device registered to your Amazon account including the Kindle app on the same iPad.

Ha!
It turned into a disaster after the buyers took over.
Consider just using the Calibre Content server and the web browser for transfers.
The down side is your Server needs to be up as there is no smarts once the file hits your device.

Would this allow me to stuff files into the Kindle app on the iPad, and also bypass Amazon's cloud storage of the file??
