E-ink Kindles with 4G Wireless
I there a list somewhere of all of the e-ink Kindles (previous generations as well as current) with 4G wireless? I have an old Kindle 3 with 3G that's been really useful when I can't get wifi internet, but 3G wireless is supposed to be going away in the near future. I'd like to snag an inexpensive (probably used or refurb) 4G-equipped replacement.
If there's no list, can someone tell me when each product line (Oasis, Paperwhite, etc.) first added 4G if available? Thanks! |

Many phones can work as a WiFi hotspot and can be cheaper new than some S/H Kindle models. There is also the risk of a blacklisted Kindle.
Some phones have USB2Go and a file browser so you can download an ebook on the phone and transfer via USB. Download to "PC" (includes Mac, Linux, iOS, Android) and transfer with USB is preferable to direct with Amazon. |

I don't know of a complete list. I do know the Voyage did not have 4G and that the Oases 2 and 3 do have a 4G LTE option. No idea which was the first PW with 4G. Kindles with a cellular option have always been more expensive, so fewer were sold and few available used have it, but they do show up from time to time on woot, ebay, etc.

Cellular Kindle PW4, Oasis 2 and Oasis 3 are the only LTE / 4G models as far as I know.

Kindle Paperwhite international edition has 4G. On US Amazon, it is currently marked down to $169. Oasis 2 and 3 also have 4G.
