Please help me, I have lost a great alice in wonderland story
I read it on a blog, I saved it as a .txt and foolishly lost it.
I believe it may have been original to that author, I've spent 4 hours searching and still can't find it. Landed on it through stumbleupon. Basically Alice is drinking in a bar by herself, and a man comes up to talk to her(maybe it's the cheshire cat?) He asks about her drug abuse, times in the mental hospital and such I believe, the story is basically Alice is stuck in this reality, and no longer believes wonderland is real. It was a fantastic story, and I can't believe I lost it. If you can help me find it that would be awesome. I need it for an essay for school, I'm about halfway done(1200 words so far) and am somewhat stumped until I find it. |

Just Googled *Alice in Reality* for interest, JGB. Wonder if this is what you're looking for: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...ogId=139962494

Nope, sorry. I would guess it was set in Manhattan or another large city, Most of the story occurs in the dialogue between alice and a male character, whom I still think may have been the cheshire cat. I don't believe they leave the bar until the end of the story if at all, there is talk of her psychiatric issues, and drug abuse, maybe the male character said something to the effect that it was just her trying to return to wonderland, a place she didn't believe existed.
it was very well written, had good dialogue and was kept very short for the ideas it contained, but I would guess it was in the 30 page range if it were a paperback. I was almost suspicious that it might have been published at some point, it was very good. It was on a blog, but it appeared to be a fairly professional one, maybe an artist's blog? Thanks for the try though, I'm hoping if we find it I can ask permission and get it on here in the short story section, it was that good ![]() |

I've read it. I don't remember details, but I'll see if I can find it in my archives.

WIN:)
I bow to your superior google-fu that's the story. I first found it on a writers blog, would really like to make sure the author has credit and is ok with me making it into a .epub and putting it up here.
Thank you ![]() |

Backups and everything are all gone due to a massive screw up that also saw me lose more then half of my life's worth of emails and a good number of irreplaceable photographs. For searching(and also for those who have gutenberg files and such) I use everything(http://www.voidtools.com/) my system is way faster without windows indexing and generally storing large quantities of irrelevant data. Everything is the fastest and smallest searching system I've found. Like google for the PC, only without the big brother side effects ![]() |

It's a haunting story; I recognized it instantly from the description but had no recollection of where I'd read it. After I found it, I couldn't remember how I'd found it in the first place--until I went to the main Cyphertext page, and saw Escape Key.
There's a song based on the story, on their song page. The rest of their music's also wonderful. |
