[Kindle] Converted AZW3 books won't show up as shortcut on new fireware update

I recently updated my Paperwhite 7th generation to 5.13.7. It has a new book cover shortcut at the bottom (between Home and Library) that takes me back to my most recently opened book.

The feature works fine with all of my MOBI books. But for reasons unknown, the shortcut will not change if I open any of the AZW3 books I converted with Calibre. It only shows my most recently opened MOBI book. Did anyone encounter this, and anything I could do to fix on my end?

It works for me. Perhaps something about the conversion options you are using to create the AZW3 files is interfering with this function.

If you post an AZW3 file for a public domain book that exhibits the problem I can see if that works for me and if not examine it to find out why. (Do not post a book that is under copyright!)

I tried your copy of Alice in Wonderland on my Kindle and did not have any problem. After opening and closing that book its cover shows up at the bottom of the screen between the Home and Library buttons. I also looked at the internals of the file and did not find anything unusual. Sorry.

Have you tried restarting your Kindle?
