sending to device
I am currently reorganizing my ebook library into separate calibre libraries. Novels, reference, fan fiction etc...
My question/problem before I wipe my Boyue Likebook Mars and resend, is this. I want to send the novels to the main directory and send the others to separate folders on the SD card. I currently use Calibre Companion with WIFI and it sends all to the SD card. I cannot find a way to change the default location or set up other locations. Is there a way to do this just using Calibre and direct connect? |

To clarify, almost everything is in epub format. I can send PDF's to another folder, but i want to send epubs to different folders depending on which library they are in.

Use one library and Tags or a custom Collection column.

That still doesn't let me send to different folders on the device. Novels to default and others to specific folders on the sd card.
That's why I was trying to see if different libraries would allow me to do that. |

Are you using CC for this (pull using CC)? You configure CC for this task (file type), not Calibre. (this assume the newer CC still works like the Multipie versions did)
If you you are in Calibre, you will need a complex Template to direct the path by file type. (chaley did mine for series a long time ago.) |

I am using CC.
I can use direct connect without CC if need be and if it actually like my Likebook Mars. As stated previously, most are the same file type. All epubs. I can send the pdf's where I want. But I can't divide the epubs into different folders on the device. An epub novel folder in the main. Epub fan fiction folder on the SD card. Reference epub folder in the SD card. etc... If I have to manually copy to the SD card folders without calibre, I will. Automating it would just be simpler in the long run. Last edited by m.a.biglin; 08-07-2021 at 11:15 AM. |

The Template Language (what is used in SendTo... or Save To...) allow both Literal and custom column use.
Your choice of 2 different drive paths , simply because of metadata, complicates things. CC can make that happen by a filter ![]() CC was intended as a front end to reading apps, just like Calibre does on the PC (use internal viewer for selected formats, else use the OS default). \sdcard\{#where}\{title}-{authors} #where is Your Custom Column where you set the folder name that book should land in on the SDcard (the actual name needs to match how to get to your card on that device) Are Calibre Column lookup names |
