Booklet Writing Help
I'm trying to write a booklet that handles rss feeds. This threads covers couple things: The very specific problem I'm encountering running the booklet, information on Kindle Booklet internals in general.
Ideally I open to a swing gui that accepts an rss file to open or combines all of them. Which looking at the lipc triggers is entirely doable. From there you can select which article you want to read and it downloads and parses the html to get a reader mode feel. It then throws you into a normal/modified reader mode just like any other book or pdf. I think this might be doable with HTMLReader-impl.jar? Let know if there any good ways to that better. Technical I tried to copy to as much of the kual luancher to try and get it setup and running but I get a Null pointer exception when when Booklet Manager tries to launch my jar (BookletManager.a.run()) . I'm on a paperwhite 4 running 13.3. My cvm doesn't support debugging(which causes bootloops apparently) and the jars I got seem to be much more obfuscated than the libraries the kual seems to be based off of. I use the fernflower decompiler built into intellij. Also I'm only targeting java 8 which my cvm seems to support. I attached the booklet class. The Booklet API is not public, and the jars are indeed heavily obfuscated, so have fun & good luck
![]() You might be able to find less obfuscated jars in very old FW versions (say, possibly 5.1 or before) and/or the oldest factory images we have for the factory jb... |

Other than that, I'm not aware of any maintained Booklet other than KUAL. KPVBooklet might be a more complex example, but it's also unmaintained and subtly broken on "newer" FW versions.

Any chance download links still exist for 5.1 or 5.0. It doesn't look like the wiki has factory images for those.
