Screen on Oynx boox 3 colour rubbish
I love colour e ink, but annoyed. Had an Onyx Boox 3 colour, sent it back, had two small bright dots, was distracting, The supplier replaced it. Got the replacement and was worse, sent it back, as the supplier believes they have a bad batch, so getting a full refund.
So annoyed as it was almost the perfect e book reader and colour added to the experience. Thr beauty is your not locked into one ebook app like how kindle, nook, etc lock you into their apps, and e books. Seems nothing else out there with colour and open like Boox. I do like the pocket book, but flawed as it locks you into their e books and not a good store at all. Also the instructions on how to do a factory reset are flaky and took several goes to reset the first one. The second, it just remains locked up and stays on the ONYX screen before toy get to the fansy colored screen saver. Seems the screens are poor on these, no issues with all the kindles I every owned |

As for your conclusion that the screens on such devices are poor/rubbish, I would beg to differ. I am quite pleased with the screen on my N3C. No bright spots on my device. Nor did I have to go through multiple returns to get a properly functioning device. Mine worked perfectly straight out of the box. As the supplier communicated to you, it seems that they may have gotten a bad batch of devices. That does not mean that ALL N3C screens will be bad. Just the ones in that batch or any subsequent bad batches. Don't know much about Kindles as I have never owned one. However, I have had a few Kobos. I got the Kobo Aura One when it first came out. Was very pleased with the size and the warm light. Mine worked perfectly straight out of the box. However, I soon started to see that people were complaining about splotchy lighting on their KA1 devices. Seems that Kobo initially had some quality control issues with a batch or batches of the KA1 devices. I gather that they eventually resolved the issue. I would assume that Boox will also resolve the issue with their bad batch of N3C devices. Although it is not without its shortcomings, I can assure you that my N3C is a quality device with a good screen. I am very pleased with it. The slight bit of colour makes reading maps and books/manga with colour a true pleasure. I wonder when a large screen colour Kindle device will ever be released... |

Were the bright spots on your device always in the same place even after refreshing the page? Did they change in size if you changed font size etc? |
