Calibre TOC window Gigantic
this is something that should be easy to fix but constantly eludes me. The TOC window for you to alter your table of contents is Gigantic...so gigantic the bottom buttons are not visible.
Does anyone know how to fix this Minimize is greyed out and size doesn't appear to be working Please help me before I toss my laptop out a window |

I think I can confirm this, if I alter the ToC Edit window size, click OK, exit calibre, start calibre, and press T, the ToC edit window pops as the previous size.

Which toc window? The one in the editor or the one that you run from within the main calibre program. The latter is remembering its last used size for me.

T is the editor. k is the toc window. And yes it can remain open after calibre quits, it doesnt affect the library database in any way just the book file. Just as the editor and viewer remain open after calibre quits.

When you go into the editor, there is a TOC section that you can choose to edit. So when I click into that section and choose edit, it brings up a window that is gigantic. It has a size and move in the upper left hand corner but I couldn’t get either to work.

The arrow that would size it shows up but when I try to resize it nothing happens or it moves slightly and bounces right back. I tried seeing if in the layout configurations I could just make it smaller but don’t see that configuration. I ended up moving it slightly and by slightly I mean enough that I could see the tip of the button I needed, then I made my own taskbar disappear and that’s I how I made it work. But it will not let me resize it.

@Kovid - should the Toc Edit window be the same size if its invoked from the Book List and Editor - because its not.
I think the one that's used when the ToC Editor is invoked from Book List is defined by - 'toc_editor_window_geom' in gui.json - I couldn't find another one. If I stop calibre, delete that entry, run calibre and open the ToC Editor from the book list I get a very large window If I resize it, and exit the ToC editor and calibre gracefully, the toc_editor_window_geom entry is not written to gui.json, so when I start calibre and open the ToC editor its still a very large window ![]() Added : Changing Adjust for high resolution screens : from Automatic to Off had no effect BR Last edited by BetterRed; 04-26-2021 at 09:29 AM. |
