My Amazon account has been signed up to KDP... automatically?

Hello! I'm sorry if this is the wrong area -- I don't post here too often! Please feel free to sweep my post into the correct spot!

Today, I received the attached email. I'm scratching my head, because I have only one Amazon account, nobody else uses it, and I haven't been compromised in a data leak according to haveibeenpwned.

So, I know that somebody else didn't log in and sign up to KDP for me (really, who would?

) But I'm very confused as to why I've been signed up. Is this something that's now happening automatically for all Kindle users and/or Prime / Unlimited subscribers? I'm definitely not an author and have no intentions of publishing anything!

I had the same thing happen a few days ago

Maybe a mistake. You don't actually create a separate KDP account. The existing regular Amazon log on works when you click on the button.

Maybe you can unsubscribe from the emails in the place you go to change that.
