Device: Kobo: Forma + Libra|Galaxy: TAB A7 + Note 8 tablet|Boox: Note Air 2
Storage full: what's best hack to access books on PC/cloud - with a rich interface?

[Numbers to help people refer back]

1. Summary: what is the best way to get Kobo (Libra) to be able to:
a) download my PDFs and EPubs...
b)...from my PC or a cloud service

c) most ideally with a rich interface:
for example being able to see covers, perhaps list files in different ways, perhaps even add them to collections

d) I DON'T want anything that automatically downloads the files - I want to select what I download. My storage is full!

2. I have already installed the Koreader+Plato package:

a) After trying about 10 times, I finally got the Koreader Dropbox tool to work, using this helpful post, which pointed out two key things:
- what precise file permissions you need to set
- that you must only generate the token AFTER doing that.
I'm about to check out the interface

b) What about webdav or ftp on Koreader: does that allow file-selection and a rich interface?

c) Can't see anything on Plato

3. I have Calibre - it can send files to the device (successfully), but I want something that can PULL files onto the device

__________________________________________________ ________

4. I have reasonably good tech skills, having jailbroken ipads, rooted Androids, and and using Windows (XP, 7 and 10)
a) So I'm willing to try ANY hack to get this working

Thanks so much in advance for any help in fixing this frustrating probby!

5. Does the Forma have a rich interface (see 1c above)? Sadly I just bought the H20 so I can't justify shelling out more to replace it, but it would be good to know.

6. 'EDITORIAL COMMENT:'

Please don't read the following if you're the argumentative type who might respond with an attack lol ! This has caused me alot of stress.

I have a lot of ebooks and although I like much else about this reader, I am somewhat peeved that:

a) (like so many devices) "8 GB" does NOT really mean 8GB for you to use. I wish lawmakers would enforce truth-in-advertising on this across the board

b) It's pretty rotten to deprive Libra readers of something so basic as native cloud (Dropbox) support. 8GB is NOT that much for a modern device. For $US 190 (250 AUD) I would have expected better.

Thanks alot, I'll look into it.

Getting pretty annoyed at Kobo for such a small HD space, lies about how big it is in their advertising, removing the SD card access it used to have, and no native cloud support.

I was telling friends about Kobo but I'm now going to emphasise the above first any convo about it. Seems like they're going backwards and offering LESS.

Pretty unintelligent, since I now have NO ROOM to buy any books from them.
