Search content of more than one selected book
I installed the Multi-Column Search, MCS.
I wanted to find a particular word in a selected set of books. More than 3 letters and it's not common. I can't imagine using any of the Column search features. Anyway, I couldn't get it to produce any search results. Is there a simpler "full body text search" on "selected/highlighted" books, or is there something simple I don't understand? I uninstalled MCS after trying it. |

I believe the relevant plugin is called Power Search, and its on my todo list to add full text search to calibre.

Yes, Power Search is a great aid while Calibre's inbuilt full text search is still on the roadmap.

Thanks.
This one? https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=331763 I couldn't find it in my Calibre. I see it uses a separate service. Hmm. https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elas...d-install.html |

I think as I absolutely know which books to search, not the entire calibre library, I'll do it the old way of opening the source in LibreOffice, or if I only have ebook versions, search each in turn on Calibre Viewer or the Kobo eink.
Yes, I see there is a local install option. Otherwise it would be useless. The ONLY things I use the Internet for are communications and websites. I'm not in the mood to install Elastic Search right now. Also I only need to search epubs or the wordprocessor files used to make them. Last edited by Quoth; 03-18-2021 at 07:57 AM. |

The Quality Check plugin can do this if you have epub files. First, set search scope to selected books, then Search Epubs, with HTML content checked.
