Basic Firmware/Software Question(s)
Just two quesitons :
1. Does Kobo have yet a control to adjust the "contrast" of book text (and/or pictures, like in pdf) like found in the Likebooks? 2. Is there any way when viewing PDFs, and you stretch to fit width so you get more and larger text, for when you Turn the Page the positioning of the PDF remains? Right now it always jumps down an inch and to the right, and cuts off text (so you have to pull it back over and up). Is there a fix for this besides installing KOReader? or is this again just a feature found on android units? Thanks |

KOReader is your best solution for PDF on a Kobo.

Thanks Jon. Just going through the install with KFMon or Nickel worries me. I want to keep the device as clean as possible, not have extra launchers and such.., and not have to reinstall a bunch of things every time there's an update. I'm just not that technical any more, sad to say. Though a nicer launcher wouldn't hurt....
And being able to adjust contrast and margin crop isn't enough motivation for me to pay more than the Kobo Forma for an Ares (I think I've left the whole android idea. IF Android didn't make you recharge every few days I'd jump, but not now). |

Do you mean adjust contrast in a PDF or in a regular book? There is a boldness slider for regular books (epubs and kepubs). No idea about PDF, as I don't read them on my eink readers.

Thanks Sirtel. I too just realized "weight" was basically text contrast for books.
But yes, I did mean PDFs. I think it may be a feature only found in the Likebook Ares (which I'm trying hard to avoid because of dislike for (too often for me) recharges.) |

The contrast adjustment for PDF is available on Kindles too. I've not tried a PDF on a Kobo.

I'm not going Kindle !!! Hahaa, I'm Kobo only.
But yeah, I didn't know Kindle had PDF contrast adjustment. Nice. Hopefully Kobo will. I didn't see it when I had a pdf on the Libra. |
