News Sources Missing for English-US

I recently upgraded from Calibre V4 to the latest V5 and have noticed that all but one of the news sources for English-US are not visible. The only one there is Journal of Accountancy. There may be others missing in the non-US English categories but I can't assess that because I don't know how many to expect there.

I am pretty sure that there should be tens of English-US sources showing and I don't understand why they're not there. The last time I looked at these was many versions ago so I can't say for sure when they disappeared.

Several months ago I upgraded to V5 when it first came out but downgraded to the latest V4 the next day after I found a plug-in incompatibility. The New Yorker in English-US continued to work as before.

Once I upgraded again to V5, I noticed there was no entry for the New Yorker (or anything but the Journal of Accountancy). As a workaround I created a custom recipe and copied in the code for New Yorker I found in https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr..._yorker.recipe.

I'd like to have access to all the other English sources from within Calibre again. What do I need to do?
