ebook indexer
Some years ago I did stumble upon DocFetcher to index my ebooks library. It is still reasonably working well.
However, recently I did learn that DocFetcher is now delopment-wise dead and replaced by the paid (and totally rewritten) version of DocFetcher Pro. That paid version is still Beta. So I think its time to find a new mature and supported alternative. I did found AnyTXT searcher which is quite quick, but has limited search capabilities compared with DocFetcher. My questions:

You might want at look at the topic https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=331763 which covers a Calibre Plugin "Power (Full-text) Search" to see if it fits your requirements.

DrChiper: I'm a bit confused. I just went to http://docfetcher.sourceforge.net/en/index.html where DocFetcher Pro v1.0 was announced in January 2021 and it appears to still be free.

Yes, but it is not developed anymore, so end-of-life. No updates since 2018. All the new goodies will be in DocFetcher Pro. There is some talk about maintenance, but time will tell if they will deliver...

Power Search (based on ElasticSearch) works quite well, though it only marks the books that are a match.
I usually search with Power Search then use Action Chain's "open with" to transfer the results to Agent Ransack for further examination. Unfortunately, Ransack's epub searching is limited to the paid version. |

If you are searching ePub, the Quality Check plugin has a search feature.

I use Windows Search, I like it because I can search multiple libraries and include locations in a search that are not calibre libraries. When needed I use the Drop Search Results plugin to Mark the books in calibre libraries.
