Marking a set of books based on unique identifiers

Based on a post from the FanFicFare thread: If I have a list of URLs/ISBNs/other identifiers, is there a way (either within Calibre or using a plugin) to drop them in and mark the associated books?

If I understand what you want correctly, you can import the list of identifiers as single field csv file using the Import List plugin. All you have to do is to match them to the correct column e.g identifier:url, and use the identifier matching. You do not need to update the book metadata, just go through the wizard to the end, and it will mark all matched books.

Also, since the title field is mandatory, you will have to map it to same single column that contains the identifier. Just make sure you do not update the book metadata to avoid overwriting your book titles.
