download option

Hello,
I need the download option in the content server to be a permission granted or denied to each user. Would it be possible to add this option to calibre?

Thanks in advance for your attention.

It is there. You just need to give each user a Logon with specific rights.
Preferences: Sharing over the net: USER ACCOUNTS

Would you be so kind as to post some screenshots of the option and the process? I have looked it and there is no option to restrict downloads of books on Preferences: Sharing over the net: USER ACCOUNTS. You can only restrict which library you can access.

Use a Search Expression eg #userallowed_tag: "mikey" or by a VL

As far as i know a search expression restricts which books of a certain library you can see, but it does not prevent book downloads.
Any other solution to prevent the download of books?

What good is a viewable Library if you can't read the books???
Create a Catalog (right click the Convert Icon). No book involved. Just the Metadata.

Let's see, in the book there are two buttons, read and download. What I need is for the download button to appear only if the user has download permission

I don't think that works as you think it does.
Read sends the book to the built in viewer.
Download sends it to the browsers download area
BOTH download the book in reality

I know, but a "background" download for offline reading is not the same as a free download button
