Sorting seems to be off

Hi,

I'm using calibre for a while now. But while looking for a book today I noticed something off with the sorting. I noticed it today, but the books involed where I noticed the problem are already in calibre for month, so the problem might be there longer.

I have a book series named "The Hitman's guide" with 4 books (1, 2, 2.1, 3).
I usually have my books sorted by title -> series -> authors.
But Book #3 of the series is not sorted after book 2.1.
Its acually: others books by the same author -> The Hitman's guide Book #1, Book #2, Book #2.1 -> Book #1 of a different series (In the Mind) -> The Hitman's guide Book #3.


While investigating I also found if I only sort series most series starting with "The" are not sorted under T but under the letter of the following word (A and An are also ignored). So "The Hitman's guide" is (partly) sorted under the letter H. Only Book 3 of the series is sorted under T.


How can I fix this? So that all book series are sorted the same way (preferably ignore a/an/the)? And why has this behaviour changed?

Sorry, right after the post I found the error.

The language of book 3 was incorrectly set to spanish instead of english. After that the sorting was correct again.
