Recovering the Calibre library on a lost partition

Help!

I want to recover my Calibre libray which consists of ebooks (mobi / epubs) on an external HDD.

A new unassigned partition has been created of 3,7 TB. The partition is almost untouched so far. The "Windows 10 Media Creation Tool" only created a 32 GB partition out of the 4 TB. Probably I've selected the HDD instead of the pendrive for the creation of an installation medium. That's probably the cause of the data loss.
  1. Which tool should I use?
  2. Can I reconstruct the file-structure of my Calibre-library which contains all the metadata of the ebooks?
  3. Will all files receive new random names?
  4. Is there a tool that can detect in the raw data of the mobi and epub files?

Thank you!

A calibre library is simply files, one of which, metadata.db stores the metadata, provided you recover al lthe files intact you wont lose anything.

Thank you! Which tool do you recommend to recover files on an unassigned partition?

I hope that the file names are not lost.

No idea, sorry. It's been decades since I needed to recover a disk, nowadays I just use automatic off site backups and recover from those.
