Adding “Export Highlights” modification failed
I tried to modify kobo ereader.config file with QuickEdit text editor to add the “Export Highlights” to the book menu with the common directions given like this.
[FeatureSettings] ExportHighlights=true Ended up with the error below. I don’t know what to do. Did I actually modify the file or did it save to another file? I’m worried that the original .config file might be mucked up and something might crash or fail later. Error - java.lang. SecurityException: Permission Denial: writing com.google.android.libra ries.storage.storagelib.FileProvider uri content://com.google.android.apps.nbu.files provider/3/content://com.android externalstorage.documents/tree/5DDE -5D9F%3A/document/5DDE -5D9F%3A.kobo%2FKobo%2FKobo %20eReader.conf from pid=4088, uid=10102 requires the provider be exported, or grantUriPermission() |

When do you get that error? The only references I can find to an editor called "QuickEdit" suggest it is an Android or iOS app. And the error makes me think you are running in Android with the device mounted through an OTG adapter. And it is a permissions error. That means you need to grant the app permissions on the phone/tablet to do this. I have no idea how to do that as my phone doesn't support OTG.

Try opening it directly from QuickEdit instead of through Files. The SAF can make apps behave unusually when they don't handle the content URIs properly. Based on that error, it looks like the developer forgot to add external storage to the app manifest.
