PW4 PSA: 5.13.4 might prevent new JB on PW4

I just received a PM from @hius07 that the current PW4 JB method doesn't appear to be working on the latest FW 5.13.4 OTA update. There's only been one case thus far and we haven't tested it ourselves.

To be safe though, if you wish to be able to jailbreak your PW4 make sure to enable airplane mode so it doesn't automatically update to 5.13.4.

Has it been confirmed by others that 5.13.4 breaks JB? I have lost track a little.

IIRC, yes, @ilovejedd sacrificed one of hers .

As long as you have an up to date hotfix, 5.13.4 doesn't break JB. You can actually still do diags downgrade on a jailbroken PW4 running 5.13.4.

Alas, if the PW4 wasn't jailbroken before installing 5.13.4, then game over.

Is there a serial JB option at this point? Given you sacrificed a PW4 to confirm the software approach fails you have a perfect candidate to test and see, assuming you have the tools and skills required o attempt it.

Someone else will have to figure that one out.

Last time I opened a mobile device (to repair a cracked LCD), I broke most of the clips holding the front and back together and managed to damage the display/touchscreen ribbon cable so it ended up worse than before.

The non-JB PW4 will work fine for reading Kindle purchased and Kindle Unlimited borrowed ebooks.

That is why I asked if you had the skills or not, yours sound about at my level.

Given the success with serial JB on the KOA1 I was wondering if there was still some hope for those otherwise out of luck until another software hole is found. I guess this will have to wait for someone with the skills and tools to take a shot at this.
