Changes in 5.7.2 - news title, menu

Hi all,
I've upgraded from 4.x to 5.7.2 yesterday and there are two things that bother me in the generated news articles:

- The first page of every article has "| Next | Section menu | Main menu | " on the top. This was there already before but my Kindle did not display it, whereas now it displays it with an ugly typewriter font. For a selected recipe I can suppress that with CSS

.calibre_navbar {display : none;}

but I'm using about 30 mostly self-written or self-modified recipes and it seems to me that there should be a simpler way to do this than to edit 30 recipes.

- Every news recipe adds the date in the form [Tue, 22 Dec 2020] to the title. This is redundant because on my kindle the date is displayed on the Home page under the news title, and wrong because now the new news is not grouped together with the old one because the title is different. Can I remove the date in the title in all the recipes?

I've had a look in the forum and elsewhere but did not find any quick solution, is there any?

You have changed either your output format to not mobi/azw3 or your output profile to a non-kindle one. Change them back and you will be fine.

I see, I've completely forgotten about Preferences because I've set them many (:-) years back and haven't changed them since then. So this is a bug report: after upgrading from 4.x to 5.7.2 my output profile in Common options/Page Setup was reset to Default profile, although it was Kindle Voyage before. After changing it back, the news are again ok.

what API? these are settings in calibre or flags to ebook-convert

Sorry, I've edited my first reply and you've probably missed the last version. The problem is that when upgrading to 5.7.2, my output profile was reset to Default profile. I'm quite sure of this because I haven't touched the preferences for years, so I consider this to be a bug.

I've noticed another problem caused by the upgrade: I had about 30 recipes running, after the update there are only 16. Looking at the code this was caused by mixing tabs and spaces which is not allowed in python3, I can understand that. But I would have expected calibre to tell me during the upgrade instead of silently removing them.
