Change default Author Sorting

Hello everyone, new here with a large library I'll never fully complete and having an issue with the default sorting of authors. I'm going with LN, FN.

All author sort fields are "green" in metadata window. However when opening calibre, the default book sort order seems to be date added ascending.

I've fiddled with the "tweak" for author sort by title [('authors',0),('title',0)] and that isn't working either. When restarting calibre it reverts back to date added ascending, not author ascending. What am I doing wrong?

Tired of clicking column headings to sort. Sorry if this has been answered before, I searched this forum, but not finding the relevant post.

The View Manager plugin will do exactly what you want.

Hi Sirtel! Thanks for replying. I downloaded View Manager and set default to Author, Title ascending. That works, but only when clicking "Default" in toolbar drop-down. Is there no way to tell Calibre or this plugin to sort Author, Title Ascending by default when restarting Calibre? It still opens to date added ascending every time.

Update. Reapplied [['authors', 0], ['title', 0]] tweak and that now works. Uninstalled the plugin and it still works. For how long, we'll see. Don't know why it didn't work before. After a few restarts it still worked. Will have to see if it holds.

BTW Sirtel I'm thinking about a KOBO Clara HD or Libra, how do you like your Libra?
More format support options are a big selling point for me.

Check the box before "Automatically apply view" ... in the plugin settings.

I like my Libra very much. Format support isn't important to me (and Kobo doesn't support Amazon formats anyway), but the Libra is still an excellent reader IMO.
