See highlights on Kobo Clara HD

I just installed KoReader and realize this is a noob question, but where can I see all of the highlighted sections I marked in an epub? I'd like to do this directly on my Kobo Clara HD, not on a connected laptop with KoHighlights.

In said document, top menu > leftmost tab > Bookmarks

That's what I thought, but unfortunately, I don't see the highlights there. I made several highlights in an epub, but the bookmarks are empty.

That is *definitely* where they end up, so, I'd double-check the book's sidecar folder for the metadata to see if they're actually in there (e.g., for foo.epub, check foo.sdr/metadata.epub.lua).

If they are, there's a bug somewhere.

If they aren't, they were never actually saved. Or the file was corrupted. Or emptied? (You mentioned KOHighlights, I don't remember if it might not offer some way of clearing them or something).

Hm, strange. Highlights will probably become part of the epub file, right? Where would I see if the file was saved?
