Kindle Not Detected (OSX / calibre authorization issue)
Message appears below. I've tried different ports and cords and have rebooted the Kindle (Oasis) and the iMac on which Calibre 5.6 is installed.
Super appreciative of any help: Michael --- calibre, version 5.6.0 ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device Failed to access files in the main memory of your device. I suggest you delete driveinfo.calibre from your Kindle. Your Kindle is detected but you have a permission problem with driveinfo.calibre.

Wasn't there a thread recently where someone (DNSB maybe) sowed how to give a 3rf party application read/write access to a USB device?

In particular: On macOS if you get permission errors when connecting a device to calibre, you can fix that by looking under System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Files and Folders. |

Thank you. I knew there was something out there.
Would there be any benefit to having calibre display possible error causes for certain errors (possibly for instance having the device driver checking for read/write access on initial connection and displaying common reasons for lack of access)? |
