Amazon forcing Kindle for PC update
Regardless of checking "do not update" it is updating. I am trying to run Kindle for pc 1.17.44170

It never updated before, but now whenever I uninstall the recently updated version, and reinstall the older version, it automatically updates when I restart it.

Any suggestions?

Theere seems to be a solution at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=14 but as someone who doesn't use Windows or even Intel-compatible hardware much...

That's a clever fix. Thanks for posting it. I'm on a Mac, and how I get around this issue is to run Kindle for Mac 1.17.x off of a disk image. It can't be written to, so after a slow startup where the software tries to install the upgrade, the software launches as usual.
