Dialogs are always Maximised

Hi there,

I have been struggling with the interface of Calibre for some time. Today I finally realised it was because all the dialogs maximise all the time. Once I realised I could make them smaller and resize them it made a lot more sense, however once closed they return to their maximised setting.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening. I am using Calibre installed on a TrueNas Scale box straight out of their package manager so it should be pretty standard.

On What OS (and version)?
On What size screen?
Which release of Calibre?

Are you running a 'sync' program? Calibre save many current positions in the user settings. A time error could be putting the old ones back.
Don't active (while it is running) sync any of Calibre. Only do a Mirror backup. There is plenty of explanations in the FAQ on clouds and NAS

Actually, these distro packages are very often so broken that they aren't supported here.

In addition, installing on a NAS can lead to corruption unless the GUI is running on the NAS. Any multi-user setup, for example using multiple remote desktops, can break things badly.

Yes use the official calibre binaries if you want support. And I am guessing this is a wayland issue most likely.
