Error getting Calibre 4.23 to recognise Kobo Forma
Over the last week, I have successfully transferred over 3,500 books to my Kobo Forma using the Send to Device function. However, since last night, when I plug it in, I keep getting the error message below, and it won't complete the job of getting the list of books from the device:
calibre, version 4.23.0 ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device IOError: disk I/O error Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 90, in run File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 513, in _books File "site-packages\calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 1964, in books File "c:\t\t\apsw-47cp24d7\src\cursor.c", line 236, in resetcursor IOError: IOError: disk I/O error Any ideas, please? |

This looks like the issue discussed at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=293370 That thread gives a list of things to try. |

Corrupt Flash or Database. An almost last resort is to logout and Factory reset. Some Kobos use an internal SD card that can be replaced. The Original H20 and Touch, but not the Libra. No idea about the Forma.

I wonder how much free space is left on the Forma's exposed storage? Or if the OP tried running a disk repair while the Forma is connected? Or if the contents of the exposed storage are visible in whatever tool his OS uses to view files. |

Thanks all. I signed out of my Kobo account and back in and rebuilt the database. It worked well and I am now able to send new books to the device again.
I was not carrying out any other operations on my computer at the time when this problem first appeared. Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk |
