Built-in Recipe Location

Where do built-in recipes live? Are the stored locally when we install calibre? Or do the live online and are downloaded whenever we run them as a job?

I can find my own custom recipes locally, but I can't seem to find the built-in ones.

They are ina zip file in the resources folder. Why do you wnt to find them? If you want to see the source for any builtin recipe the best place is on github or in the add custom news source dialog where you can choose to modify a builtin recipe.

It might be just my computers, but Calibre is really slow at retrieving recipes in the custom source dialog. And I'd like to study a few of them so that maybe I can fix some things on my own.
