Conversion plugin that only does one type of conversion

Hello,

I want to create a conversion plugin that converts from CBZ/CBR directly to MOBI.
I already created an InputFormatPlugin for CBZ/CBR but it is always deployed when I convert CBZ files.
Can I change the behavior of my plugin so that it only gets triggered when the target format is MOBI and else calibre uses the default CBZ/CBR plugin?

From what I have seen, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. And I think that is deliberate. The conversion allows conversion from any supported input format to any supported output format.

But, I am extremely curious about why you need this. What is different about your input format plugin for comics that is specific to MOBI? Are you sure these are useful for other other formats? Or is it effectively just setting options for the comic processing that you know work well for MOBI on the devices you read on?

I'm trying to port the Kindle Comic Converter as a calibre plugin. The problem with the calibre conversion is that my Kindle Oasis always has margins around the images when I convert with Calibre while the comics look way better when I convert them via the Kindle Comic Converter (they first pack it into an epub file and then they convert it into mobi with kindlegen).
