Problem installing Calibre
I'm on Windows 10.
I was using Calibre 4.23.0 and upgraded to 5.0.1. Discovered that plugins I relied on do not work, and tried to go back to Calibre 4.23.0. After uninstalling 5.0.1, I cannot not install 4.23.0. The installer starts copying files for a bit, and then rolls back the installation. The installer doesn't provide any error messages, but in event viewer, I see: Code:
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: calibre 64bit. Product Version: 4.23.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Kovid Goyal. Installation success or error status: 1603. |

Do you have Microsoft Powertoys installed and running? If so, disable it as it is s known issue and the Powertoys stop you installing Calibre.
You can able them again afterwards if you wish but just beware the toys could affect other program installs too. Last edited by georgemk; 09-30-2020 at 12:40 PM. Reason: add enable sentence |
