Books disappearing from 5.0!

I just installed 5.0 on my MacBook Air running Catalina (10.15.6). When I first started up 5.0, it crashed. No error indications. I tried again. It runs, but every book I added to calibre since 2018 is missing!

Suggestions?

Are these books missing from the calibre library folder of just th einterface?

They are missing from the library as well. I have Calibre on a Windows device which I have not upgraded yet, so I could restore the missing books from there.

The newest book in my Mac Calibre library is dated November of 2018.

There havent been any changes to the library management part of calibre, so I dont see how books could be going missing. Try restoring them and see if it repeats, and keep a backup.

I installed 5.0 on my Windows device after making sure I had a backup. All books are there! I suspect that my Mac problem isn't Calibre-related, but it remains a mystery. I'll restore the books from my Windows to my Mac Calibre library and see what happens.
