Kepub fast page turn stuck?

I decided to start another re-read of Buss's translation of Monte Cristo. I bought it on my Kindle several years ago, and read the Calibre-converted kepub on my H2O2 without incident. Today, I decided to skip through the introduction, foreword etc, taking advantage of the kepub fast page turn. Except, it got stuck.

The Libra raced through the book and did not respond to either screen touches or button presses. I only stopped it by pressing the power button. When I turned it back on, I found that I'd read 49% of the book at an average speed of 19 pages per minute - slowing down in my dotage, clearly

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure if it's a Libra problem or a problem with the kepub, since I don't recall trying the fast page turn on my H2O2 with this particular book.

It's probably a book-specific problem.

The general problem with fast-page-turns is that it prioritizes speed over loading time. Since each chapter is normally in a separate file within the zip archive that is the ePub container, rather than wait for the next chapter to load, it just skips pages (usually only one) to keep moving ahead. But that one page it skips is the FIRST in each new chapter, and that makes the feature pretty damn useless, as you can't easily watch for chapter numbers, chapter titles, chapter epigraphs, etc., as the display of them is usually suppressed.

Thanks for the clear explanation. I don't use the feature often, will probably do so even less often I know.
