Kindle 5th gen bricked after downgrade
Hello, I've scoured google, reddit, and this forum, but I was unable to find an answer. I was following https://forum.xda-developers.com/ama...-fire-t3899860 and reached the step where it told me, for a 5th gen, I could downgrade to 5.0.1 firmware via adb sideload.
The instructions did say it would brick the device until the process was completed and the following step instructs me to ensure the device is powered off (although honestly, it's 100% bricked and nothing comes on the screen anymore regardless of what I do, so I guess I think it's powered off). When I attempt the next step of "sudo ./bootrom-step.sh" it fails saying the following: SerialException('write failed: {}'.format(e)) serial.serialutil.SerialException: write failed: [Errno 19] No such device At this point, I'm really not sure how to continue. I can't proceed with the instructions, apparently, and after trying for the last few hours unsuccessfully, I've been unable to unbrick the device to start over. Please help |

Fair warning: we don't do Android here, you'd better head over to XDA.
