Stupid questions about Mini
1. Is it possible to put a headphone jack into a Mini? (for mp3)
2. DIY frontlight? 3. I saw a thread detailing how to turn a kobo into a Debian Linux tablet. Can I do this w/ my Mini? |

There's no D/A chip in the mini. So it would not be possible to play digital audio unless you can get a sound card dongle (using the USB port) to work.

Even if you were to install a usb dongle, it would still need drivers, possibly kernel modifications, and then an application to actually play the audio files.
Just forgot about it; get a tablet (maybe eink based) and ensure it has audio support |

The answer is in @PeterT's post. You need the drivers, kernel etc. If Debian has them, then it might work. But, it is completely possible that the hardware will not support it at all. I'm pretty sure this is something you will have to try yourself.

Maybe have a look into running Android on it? It won't have sound, but could be a good substitute for a linux tablet.

That sounds nice. Would the image for the Touch work on the Mini?
